Before getting to the cookies, let’s chat about creating a holiday cookie box. While these boxes take a lot of time to make, they bring such joy that the effort of homemade vegan cookies is worth it!

Choosing Your Cookies

The first step in creating a holiday cookie box is deciding which cookies to include. Think about what flavors the recipient will enjoy the most. Next, try mixing and matching flavors and textures; this makes it visually appealing while ensuring a cookie for everyone!

Finally, try to consider dietary restrictions beyond veganism. For example, a dairy-free and gluten-free recipient might also be celiac. If that is the case, they are most likely susceptible to cross-contamination, and their cookies must be baked and packaged separately.

Designing Your Box

Next, on to creating your box. You will want to choose the container based on how many different types of cookies you plan on baking, how they will fit, and how you want to present them.

I like a decorative tin because it can be recycled for many years. A cardboard box where you can cut and insert specific sections is also an easy and affordable idea. (Seriously, great use of some of those Amazon boxes!)

Be sure to add exciting visuals. Suggestions include Christmas-colored tissue paper, ornaments, and cookie cutters.

Personalize your Holiday Box

At a time when so much of our lives are impersonal, a handwritten note can have deep personal meaning. It shows you care, and this is not just another cookie box.

It’s time to get on to the fun stuff: determining which vegan cookies you want to give for Christmas this year!
